Downers Grove Area Newcomers Club will host their second annual Affair with Flair Spring Shopping Event, a fund-raising effort benefiting Diveheart, 9 a.m.-noon, April 9, at First United Methodist Church, 1032 Maple Ave.

The event will provide a venue for shoppers to find unique gifts for upcoming holidays and special occasions such as Mother's Day, teacher appreciation, birthdays and graduations.  There will be more than 20 local artisans and vendors showcasing a variety of items including handcrafted jewelry, handbags, fine health and beauty products, and children's clothing and accessories.

“We’re very excited to host the Affair with Flair again this year to help raise funds for our selected charity of the year, Diveheart,” said Gina Pekofske, Newcomer’s president.  Each year the club selects a local charity as the beneficiary of their fund-raising activities.  “We selected Diveheart because we feel it is important to help a local organization and we commend their mission to raise awareness and funds for educational SCUBA diving and snorkeling experience programs for mentally or physically impaired children and adults.
