Students received a list of ingredients and considered cost and taste into their burger creations. They were also responsible for creating a marketing campaign for their burger through flyers, social media and more.

Tom & Eddie's reached out to District 99 for the partnership. The restaurant chain has hosted similar competitions with neighboring high schools at other locations.

If the Lone Star Burger proves popular enough, it could remain on Tom & Eddie's menu for longer.
