Egg-Throwing Teens Cause Car Accident

Theft, battery among reports.

The following incidents and arrests were reported by the Downers Grove Police Department:

Malicious Mischief

Kishahn Humphrey—18 of 2516 Crystal Court in Woodridge—and four juveniles were charged with Malicious Mischief after throwing eggs at a car on Butterfield and Highland. The driver was startled when a black SUV pulled up next to her car and threw eggs at her vehicle, causing her to swerve into a median, damaging her vehicle's rims and causing two of her tires to explode. The minors were also charged with violating curfew, and damage to the victim's car was estimated at $1,100.

Theft of Motor Vehicle Parts

Silver Volvo rims valued at $1,500 were stolen from the True Saab dealership on Ogden on March 27 around 11:30 p.m.

Disorderly Conduct

Vincent Sabo, 48 of 703 W. Liberty Street in Wheaton, was charged with Urinating in Public after being found by officers passed out in a parking lot at Main and Maple on March 26 around 11:45 p.m.

Jeffrey Mohen, 54 of 5850 Walnut, was charged with Disorderly Conduct after pounding on another tenant's door and yelling at the Bristol Club apartments on Walnut March 30 at 3:30 a.m. The victim said it was an ongoing problem.

Burglary From Motor Vehicle

An air compressor and power tools valued at $795 were stolen from the back of a truck parked at the Extended Stay on Finely on March 27 around 5 a.m.

A backpack containing a $2,000 IBM Thinkpad computer was stolen from a vehicle parked at the Rockwood Tap House on Finley March 26 between 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. The driver's side window of the vehicle was also smashed.

Possession of Cannabis

Parelle Martin, 23 of 1120 Warren Ave in Downers Grove, was charged with Possession of Cannabis on March 22 around 11:50 p.m. Martin was sitting in a car with no lights on and when officers approached the vehicle they smelled and subsequently found marijuana in Martin's possession.

Theft Under $500

An iPhone was stolen from a locker at Blast Fitness on 75th Street March 28. The particle board locker appeared to be opened with a pry tool, and the manager said he would soon be replacing the lockers and installing security cameras. The iPhone was valued at $200.

Five fruit trees on a pallet left outside of Birch Commercial on Walnut were stolen around 2:30 a.m. on March 31. The value of the stolen trees was estimated at $250.

Criminal Damage to Property

The rear window panel of a van parked in the 5700 block of Fairmount was broken out on March 29 between 6:40 p.m. and 8:40 p.m., but nothing was taken from the van.

A car parked in the 3900 block of Williams on March 30 had its driver's side window shattered with what appeared to be a bb or pellet gun. The damage was valued at $200.

Theft Over $500

A 455 lb. generator and other items were stolen from a residence in the 1000 block of Blanchard sometime overnight on March 29. The value of the items stolen was estimated at $3,964.

Battery

Diego Martinez, 21 of 920 Krage Drive in Addison, was charged with battery after throwing a bottle at a man's face at Rita's American Roadhouse on Butterfield early March 31.
