The Downers Grove North football team will look to build on its back-to-back upsets Saturday as it hosts Benet Academy for the IHSA Class 7A quarterfinals.
After losing their last three regular-season games to finish sixth in the West Suburban Silver Conference, the Trojans (7-4) have defied all odds in their 2012 playoff run. They knocked out top-seeded Batavia 38-26 in Round 1, and beat Thornton 29-13 last week in Round 2.
Coming off 1-8, 2-7 and 2-7 seasons, Downers Grove North will again be the underdog as it hosts Benet (10-1) for quarterfinal play.
The game will be held at 1 p.m. at North High, 4436 Main St.

50 years ago, as a St Procopius player (now Benet) and a DG resident, I would have loved this match up opportunity. Two great entities !!

Overall it was a phenomenal game. Well played, very close in the second half. I can't believe Benet won.
