Golfers of All Ages Putt for Fun—and Funds
Third annual mini golf event benefits library foundation.
Nearly 325 golfers turned out for the Downers Grove Public Library Foundation's third annual mini golf event on Sunday, April 10.
Patrons of all ages putted their way through the 18-hole miniature golf course set up throughout the library. Tournament winners Ryan Barofsky, Max Pokrzywnicki, and Joe Weber.
Twenty six local businesses and organizations sponsored the holes, tees and greens, including the oversized pair of glasses created by Larson Eye Center for players to putt through, and Fair Oaks Contractors' wooden deck and two tool boxes.
Other sponsors were Customized FX, Downers Grove Bicycle Club, Friends of the Downers Grove Public Library, Community Bank of Downers Grove, Downers Grove Organic Gardeners, Downers Grove Swim and Racquet Club, InterfaceFLOR, Law Office of Kevin M. Lyons, Maple Tree Academy, Play It Again Sports, Two Way Street Coffee House, Consider It Done, Dariusz Jewelers, Downers Grove Area Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Downers Grove Women's Golf Association, Essential Telecom Consultants Inc., Frank Electric Co., Karen Skala Wealth Management, Mayflower Tours, ServiceMaster Commercial Cleaning and Tivoli Theatre.
A.W. Wendell & Sons Inc., Downtown Downers Grove Market by Indian Boundary YMCA and Myers-Briggs & Co. Inc. provided balloons and tournament awards.
Proceeds benefited the Downers Grove Public Library Foundation, which helps enhance the quality and range of library services, said Melissa Doornbos, publicity and program coordinator.

As a DG resident I am grateful that we have such an incredible library that sponsors events such as this. Great photos of what was a fun day for all!
