Residential Burglary on 63rd Street

A house was burglarized in the 900 block of 63rd Street in Downers Grove sometime between 7 p.m. on Nov. 17 and 4:15 a.m. on Nov. 18, police said.

A man called police to his home just after 5 a.m., when he returned from a concert and noticed the blinds to one of his living room windows was in disarray. The man told officers he noticed a damaged window screen on the living room floor, police said.

The window itself was wide open, leading the man to believe someone broke in, police said.

The man told police $4,100 cash was removed from a safe, the report states. A black and yellow Zack Wild replica guitar was also stolen, police said.

No further details were released. The victim told police he would be willing to press charges should an offender be located.

Karen, the Downers Grove police department didn't release details until late last week. Because of the holiday, I didn't see that particular report until yesterday.
