Hunter’s family is organizing a Hope for Hunter Golf Outing, which will take place August 16 at Carriage Greens Country Club in Darien.
Funds raised during the event will help support the Downers Grove-area boy and his family as he continues his recovery at a nearby rehabilitation facility. Hunter suffered numerous injuries when he was pinned underneath a car while crossing the street, including a traumatic brain injury.
“Hunter’s life and that of his family, friends and now community have forever been altered,” said a letter publicizing the golf outing. “Hunter still has a long road to recovery and still risks the chance of being permanently disabled.”
Through the golf outing, Hunter's family hopes to raise awareness of traumatic brain injuries while also raising money to improve Hunter's quality of life, the letter said.
The daylong golf outing will start with registration at 10 a.m. followed by lunch at 11 a.m. After the game, an open bar starts at 5 p.m., followed by raffles, auctions, dinner and an awards ceremony.
Participation starts at $100 for dinner only or $175 for golf and dinner. Corporate sponsorships are also available.
