Joe Cantore is opposed in the election of the Forest Preserve Commissioner District 2 by Don Kirchenberg from Downers Grove, IL. Thank you for being there and covering this important discussion Amanda! We appreciate your work in Downers! The candidates did a great job informing the voters. Liz Chaplin had a great command of the issues and Noonan seemed very earnest. Kirchenberg was only able to give a five minute statement because Cantore no-showed. Very disappointing.

Congratulations to the League of Women Voters for their 90 years of service to our communities! They do excellent work in a nonpartisan fashion. Unfortunately not all elected officials and candidates for reelection respect this group and their work. At last night's (9/24/12) debate scheduled many weeks in advance Pete DiCianni Mayor of Elmhurst running for County Board and Joe Cantore Forest Preserve District Commissioner both in District 2 were NO SHOWS. Their failure to participate cheats the voters of a chance to get answers to their questions. We need DiCianni and Cantore to participate in debates for the benefit of the voters and good government!
