Numerous Mailboxes Damaged on February 2

Trespassing, harassment by telephone among reports.

The following incidents and arrests were reported by the Downers Grove Police Department:

Criminal Damage to Property

The rear window of a vehicle parked at the Warren Court Condos was broken and a dent was found in one of the vehicle's doors with a large rock lying in the area on the evening of February 2.

A car parked at Good Sam hospital was “keyed” on February 1 around 10 a.m.. The owner believes it may have happened as a result of an argument she had with another driver over who was going to take a parking spot.

A mailbox was damaged sometime overnight on February 2 in the 1300 block of 35th Street.

Two mailboxes were damaged in the 100 block of Chicago Ave on February 2 between 6 p.m. and 10:30 p.m..

Two juveniles were arrested for smashing mailboxes in the 3700 block of Saratoga on February 2 after their vehicle was identified by a victim who got into his car and followed the juveniles.

The passenger's side door and mirror of a car parked at the Hummer Creek Apartments on Fairview was “keyed” sometime overnight on February 3.

Burglary From Motor Vehicle

A Garmin GPS and iPhone charger cord were stolen from an unlocked car parked in the 6700 block of Briargate Drive sometime overnight on February 1.

An iPhone charger and flash drive were taken from the glove box of a car parked at the Courts of Falling Water on Winthrop sometime between January 11 and January 13.

Harassment by Telephone

A juvenile offender placed approximately 20 phone calls over a two-week span to Lovers Lane on 75th street making sexual comments to whoever answered the phone. The caller ID identified where the calls were coming from.

Disorderly Conduct—Other

Erica Aponte, 36 of 705 W. Liberty Street in Wheaton and Robert Prysmiki, 56 of 4110 N. Park in Westmont, were charged with Criminal Trespass to Real Property and Violation of Bail Bond on February 2 after returning to a laundromat on Fairview they were charged with trespassing at a couple of days earlier. Both were transported to DuPage County Jail and Prysmiki was also charged with Disorderly Conduct.

Open Alcohol Violation

Kevin Hudson, 22 of 6123 South Prairie in Chicago, was charged with Drinking Alcohol on Public Property after being spotted drinking at the Main Street train station on February 3.

Malicious Mischief

A swastika was drawn in the dusty window of a car parked at that Courts of Falling Water on Winthrop on February 3.

Criminal Damage to State Supported Property

Two windows were broken out at the train depot on Fairview in the afternoon of February 2. A witness heard glass breaking while waiting for the train and saw a white male and female inside the depot. Damage was estimated at $750.
