Rotary Announces GroveFest Entertainment Schedule

Acts include range of sounds from Downers Grove and elsewhere.

From blues to jazz to contemporary rock and zydeco, a wide range of entertainment is planned for Rotary GroveFest 2011.

The Rotary Club of Downers Grove announced the acts that will be appearing at the festival, which is set for June 23-26 in downtown Downers Grove:

Friday June 24

5-6 p.m. Judge's Nite Band: Good-time rock 'n roll... and it's perfectly legal.

7-8:30 p.m. Michael Heaton BandAmericana with a rock-n-roll heart.

9:30-11 p.m. Hurricane GumboEight-piece Louisiana party band combines zydeco, R&B, jazz and funk! 

Saturday June 25 

Noon-1 p.m. Garage Band UBands from a Hinsdale-based rock school for kids and adults, which was founded in Downers Grove.  

2-3:30 p.m. Hindsight Downers Grove-based alternative/classic rock band proudly plays covers from the '60s through today. 

4:30-6 p.m. Dave Specter: Great Chicago blues band plays Blues Fest main stage, Buddy Guy's, House of Blues, and many more.

7-8:30p.m. Butter Side Down: Acoustic roots rock covers and originals influenced by Howie Day, Freddy Jones, Chris Isaak and more.

9:30-11 p.m. Evolution: Classic to current rock from a new band with the three founding members of Hi-Infidelity.

Sunday June 26 

Noon-2 p.m. Downers Grove Dance Studios 

2:30-3:30p.m. Downers South Jazz Ensemble: Big band swing from this award-winning high-school band fresh from New York City's Essentially Ellington Jazz Festival! 

4:30-5:30p.m. Piano Men: A tribute to the music of Billy Joel and Elton John. 

6:30-8 p.m. Maggie Speaks Presents Final Say: Musical. Infectious. A non-stop, hi-energy, hands-in-the-air party.

9-10:30p.m. Elevation: The greatest U2 tribute band on the planet.”
