A busy holiday weekend is in store for Downers Grove residents. But pace yourselves, folks, because there is a lot to do.
The West Towns Chorus will present its annual holiday show "Christmas Dreams" at 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 10, 2 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 11 and 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 11 at the Tivoli Theatre, 5021 Highland Ave.
The men's four-part harmony chorus will perform along with the Skinkers, a mixed quartet, the Chancel Rangers of First United Methodist Church, the Affinity String and Brass Ensemble, flautist Martha Farahat, and Tivoli organist David Rhodes. Santa is also expected to make an appearance.

The Tivoli Theatre's Holiday Classic Film Festival begins Sunday, Dec. 12 with 7:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. showings of "The Bishop's Wife," a 1948 film starring Cary Grant, Loretta Young and David Niven.
The festival continues with 7:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. showings of "Meet John Doe"(1941) on Monday, Dec. 13; "Planes, Trains and Automobiles" (1987) on Tuesday, Dec. 14; "White Christmas" (1954) on Wednesday, Dec. 15, and "National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation" (1989) on Thursday, Dec. 16.

The Downers Grove Downtown Management Corp. is offering complimentary carriage rides in the central business district from noon to 3 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 12. Rides depart from Curtiss Street, just west of Main Street.
