The American Wind Band will perform a free concert on Sunday, February 24 at 3:00 p.m. at Lincoln Center in Downers Grove. While the first half of the concert will include favorites like Leroy Anderson’s The Syncopated Clock and music from Les Miserable, the second half of the concert will feature music by Russian composers. The band will perform portions of Mussorgsky’s Pictures at and Exhibition as well as works by Prokofieff, Tchaikovsky, and Rimsky-Korsakov. All are welcome to attend.
The American Wind Band was created to promote and encourage the understanding, appreciation, and study of concert band literature through performances. The band, by presenting concerts in several venues, extends the education and enjoyment of band music to all those in attendance. More About Downers Grove Park District Lincoln Center
The Lincoln Center houses the Park District preschool, the active adult (senior) center, a gym, an auditorium, classrooms and a modern kitchen. Various classes are held in Lincoln Center including dance, ceramics, music and tot classes. Rentals are available.
