Free Lecture Focuses on Arthritis in the Hands

Taruna Madhav Crawford, M.D., a hand and upper extremity specialist and orthopaedic surgeon with MidAmerica Hand to Shoulder Clinic, will discuss arthritis of the hands at an educational program from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 25, at Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital, 3815 Highland Ave., Downers Grove. The session is free and open to the public.
More than 40 million Americans suffer from some type of arthritis. It is a disease characterized by the progressive degeneration of cartilage, the cushioning liner between the joints. Arthritis is painful and may result in limitation of motion, joint deformity and loss of function.
Dr. Madhav Crawford will discuss facts about arthritis of the hand and wrist. Questions she will answer include:
