Aloha! Help us welcome the summer heat with an authentic Hawaiian Luau (free and open to the community) on June 24 at 4 p.m. hosted by Gloria Dei Lutheran Church. Join us for traditional hula lessons taught by Chicago's own Hula O'Puanani, live Hawaiian music and entertainment from local Hawaiian musicians Hoapili, eat delicious authentic luau food and play games for all ages. We'll even have a real roasted pig! Bring friends and family for this feast to celebrate our church ohana, or family. Feel free to dress in aloha attire - we'll have a prize for the best dressed so unpack that Hawaiian shirt and get ready to party! Don't forget your grass skirts -- we'll see you at Gloria Dei for sun, surf and hula!

More About Gloria Dei Lutheran Church
A congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, Gloria Dei has served Downers Grove and surrounding communities since 1948 with a focus on worship, learning and service. Sunday services feature bible preaching and an excellent music program. Children's education and other programs are held on Sunday morning, Wednesday afternoon and other times during the week. Gloria Dei dedicated a new addition in Fall 2008. Other areas of the church were renovated at that time.
