DESCRIPTION:There is hardly a person in our world whose life has not been
  touched by cancer or another debilitating illness in some way or anothe
 r and those who have been affected\, need solace. We will be presenting 
 a special program at First Congregational Church of Downers Grove that w
 e anticipate will provide healing and hope to those people.\nA Pilgrimag
 e of Hope\, a journey with cancer\, is an hour-long presentation that ta
 kes its framework from the Catholic ritual called the Stations of the Cr
 oss. The program itself uses stories\, prayers\, and music - woven toget
 her to show that when something frightening is dropped on our doorstop\,
  God is with us. And that through Christ&rsquo\;s journey to the cross w
 e see God&rsquo\;s presence in the full range of human emotion and strug
 gle in a journey that is both life and death.\nIt really doesn&rsquo\;t 
 matter if you are Christian or participate in any form of organized reli
 gion for this evening to be meaningful. The presentation runs less than 
 an hour\, and there will be time afterward to linger and reflect or to t
 alk with others going through similar experiences.\nThe Pilgrimage of Ho
 pe will take place Sunday\, November 11 at 7:00 pm in the Sanctuary of F
 irst Congregational Church at &nbsp\;1047 Curtiss Street\, Downers Grove
