American Cancer Society Seeks Volunteers for Prevention Study

The DuPage Medical Group in Downers Grove is holding an open enrollment Thursday for local residents who qualify for the American Cancer Society's Cancer Prevention Study (CPS-3).

Residents may enroll between 2 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. at 1100 W. 31st St., Suite 125, in Downers Grove.

Participation in the study is open to anyone who:

  • Is willing to make a long-term commitment to the study, which means completing periodic follow-up surveys at home for the next 20-30 years;
  • Is between 30 and 65 years old;
  • Has never been diagnosed with cancer (not including basal or squamous cell skin cancer).
Prospective participants should register through the www.cps3illinois.org website and schedule an enrollment time, as well as complete a survey and provide brief medical history. During their scheduled onsite appointment, participants will sign a consent form and provide a small non-fasting blood sample performed by a certified, trained phlebotomist.
