Giant Electromagnet to Move Through Downers Grove on Wednesday

Electromagnet on the move: Overnight road closures are planned across DuPage County this week as scientists from Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory move a giant electromagnet from Lemont to the laboratory site in Batavia. On Wednesday night, the ring will travel on Boughton Road in Bolingbrook to I-355, and will exit at Butterfield Road (Route 56) in Downers Grove. It will then take Route 56 to Route 53, and Route 53 to Hidden Lake Forest Preserve in Glen Ellyn. Road closures are scheduled from 11:30 p.m. Wednesday to 5 a.m. Thursday.

Morning Muppets: Classic Cinemas is hosting its Wednesday Morning Movies Series all summer, and today it continues with "Muppets from Space" (G). Doors open at 9 a.m., with the film starting at 10 a.m., at any of the 12 theatre locations, including the Tivoli Theatre, 5021 Highland Ave. General admission is $1 per person.
