A Proud American Manufacturer.

It’s that long-awaited time of year, again…  The good ole’ 4th of July!  What does your family like to do during this holiday?  Is this merely an excuse to get loved ones together and celebrate life with red/white/blue and barbeques?  Or, does your family like to enjoy a comfortable and quiet off-day at home?  Are any fireworks or sparklers involved?

I fondly remember this holiday spent as a kid when the family would cook out and at the end of the night my parents would take us to watch the fireworks at Centennial Park.  The closer we would get to the action, the happier I was, and if my parents bought me a glow-in-the-dark necklace, I was over the top.  We’d play Frisbee while waiting for the show to start, and once “What a Wonderful World” by Louis Armstrong came on, that was our cue to sit and enjoy the show.

Though I didn’t really understand the significance of this holiday until later, the memories I hold with it are ultimately a reflection of the fight for freedom our country’s forefathers endured.  Whatever your way of celebration may be, let us remember that we are able to partake in this holiday because of this day 247 years ago.  Because of our forefathers’ courageous stance to fight for the Declaration of Independence, it has influenced numerous other movements in U.S. history.
