A1 Property Inspection launched

Robert Casey of Downers Grove spent three decades in the field of construction management including a job as quality control manager for the Army Corps of Engineers. He knows what quality construction looks like, and he’s seen (and solved) every kind of building problem imaginable.

Based on the depth and breadth of his experience, Casey forged a new business called A1 Property Inspection Corp. He earned his Home Inspector’s License and has 30+ hours of OSHA training. He will work with banks, sellers, buyers and mortgage companies.

“The economy appears to be turning around, so the timing was right to start the company,” Casey said. “I have construction knowledge and contacts, and my partner has expertise in finance and accounting.”

Casey’s worked on historical preservation projects; hospitals; airports; high end, mid-range and low end multifamily residences; Department of Defense structures; commercial real estate; retail; ground up renovations; and security offices. In addition, he worked in The Peoples Republic of China running crews for the building of a 500,000 sq. ft. office complex, a variety of housing, and ten theaters.

“My experience allows me to look at potential problems with a keener eye,” he said. “I like to create solutions that are outside the box.”

In addition to A1’s property inspections, Casey offers services that incorporate his construction management function such as:

•    Acting as construction manager for homeowners
•    Hiring contractors on the homeowner’s behalf
•    Writing contracts between home owner and the subcontractor
•    Writing the scope of work for the project
•    Collecting the required paperwork
•    Verifying quality
•    Approving subcontractor payout

“I want to make a difference in peoples’ lives,” Casey said. “I am tremendously motivated to help homeowners solve problems that appear overwhelming, and my clients know I am the person who looks out for them. I have been in construction my entire life, and I get no greater joy than helping people look at potential issues when looking at a home and its systems.”
