Demand for Abortion Recovery on Rise

CareNet DuPage Program Receives Christ Church Funding

The noise that surrounds the political debate about abortion often overshadows the stories of women who have suffered as a result of their abortion experience.  Today, more of those stories are coming to light.  Recent news accounts tell of women who suffer post-traumatic stress symptoms such as nightmares, flashbacks and depression, and those who have felt coerced to have abortions against their wishes.

Help is available to women and men who seek recovery from their recurring symptoms due to a past abortion.  Restore After Abortion, a program of CareNet Pregnancy Services of DuPage, offers post-abortive people an opportunity to process their experience honestly, heal from past wounds, and finally move on.

Christ Church of Oak Brook has provided a grant to advertise the Restore program, so that help might be more accessible to those who desire it.  Kathleen Rowe, chair of the church’s Domestic Missions Team, explained why the church has gotten involved.  “Christ Church of Oak Brook has been a supporter of CareNet DuPage for almost 9 years. During that period we have seen CareNet continue to be open to new areas of service. We celebrate CareNet’s commitment to protecting the lives of the unborn. We also are pleased to partner with them in bringing God’s healing touch to those who have abortion in their past.”
