Rover Rescue Dog of the Week
Want to go exploring? I need a partner! My name is Clark, but not to be confused with the famous William Clark of the 1800’s Louis and Clark Expedition. But my short life has seen some adventure! I am a two year old beagle that was found peeking in the windows of an elementary school in Southern Indiana. Hey, you cannot fault a boy for trying to break in and learn. I have been told that knowledge is power and history is my favorite subject. (By the way, I heard that William Clark did not have a formal education either!) The school only allowed two legged students so I got sent to a high kill shelter instead. Luckily, the shelter workers thought I was as cute as I was diligent. So I found myself on a perilous journey to Illinois with the Rover Rescue crew. But let me tell you about my good looks! I weigh a healthy 28 pounds and I have the softest, largest velvety ears. And I have been told that I have quite soulful eyes. There should be a caution warning saying that if you look into them you will indeed be hypnotized and will want to adopt me! And why wouldn’t you?? I would make a great family dog. I get along with people of all ages. Being a good house dog is a newly acquired plan for me. I need a patient family to work on some of my manners and explain what is expected of me! I am a very good pupil and I am more than eager to please. While at my new foster home, I have made a great discovery: kitchen counters. It’s a good thing that I am not tall enough to reach, but I am sure interested in that uncharted territory. I love taking hikes over vast areas of land, but will you help me master my leash skills? I have been known to chew on the lead when I have had enough. My foster mom thinks I am a really good guy! I am crate-trained and housebroken. I am up to date on shots and neutered. I get along with other dogs. I actually take the submissive role as I would rather be an Indian than a chief! I love to play with toys and bones. I may not be able to find the waterways to the Pacific, but I know that I can discover the route to your heart!
