$4 Million Lottery Win for Waitress at Downers Grove Restaurant

Connie Licona purchased the winning ticket at her workplace, the DuPage Inn, where she will continue to work

A waitress at Downers Grove's DuPage Inn hit the $4,000,000 jackpot on a $20 scratch-off lottery ticket purchased at her workplace last week, the Suburban Life reports.

According to the paper, Connie Licona of Glen Ellyn purchased the "50x The Cash" ticket after her shift at the restaurant on Wednesday, and originally thought that it was a $4,000 winner—until a coworker took a second look and confirmed that she'd actually won 1000 times more than that.

"I almost fell. I couldn't believe it," she told the paper. "It hasn't even sunk in yet... I think it'll sink in when I see that check," which ended up being a $1.68 million lump sum.

"So many people called me asking, 'Are you quitting, are you quitting? ... No, I'm not quittin'." She's back at work at the Inn this week, the paper said, and she will use the money to help out family members and invest.

The DuPage Inn also gets the customary 1 percent cut: $40,000.
