Senior Cats Need Forever Homes to Spend Golden Years
Senior cats get second chance at adoption at DuPage County Animal Care and Control. For limited time $100 adoption fee will be waived on cats seven and older.
Spring has sprung, and pretty soon DuPage County Animal Care and Control, as well as hundreds of animal shelters across the country, will be up to their necks in kittens from now through mid-summer.
In anticipation of kitten season, Friends of the DuPage County Animal Control Foundation is picking up the $100 fee for any adopted cat seven years or older for a limited time.
The money saved can be spent spoiling the newest family member. All cats are microchipped, spayed/neutered, vaccinated and FIV/FET tested prior to going home.

These senior felines are looking for forever homes and have more than a few of their nine lives left, making them calm and dignified companions for your household.

“Because of our success with re-homing animals through adoption and transfer to rescue partners, our senior animals are finally getting a second chance at life and adoption.” said DuPage County Animal Care and Control Veterinary Administrator Dr. Todd Faraone. “At DCACC, we see many senior animals that would make wonderful companions for just about any family. All they need is someone to give them an opportunity and a home where they can live out their golden years.”
The open admission shelter, which means they take everything, has a variety of older cats in all colors, shapes and sizes that qualify for the waived adoption fee. Peruse the gallery of older felines and pick out your new forever friend.
DuPage County Animal Care and Control is located at 120 N. County Farm Road in Wheaton. Hours of adoption are Monday and Thursday noon to 7 p.m.; Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday noon to 4:30 p.m.; and Saturday 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
