You may not be able to pick-your-own, but here's a list of orchards where you can buy freshly picked apples near Downers Grove.

You can still purchase apples in the orchard's apple barn. Check the availability of different apple varieties here.
Other activities: Farm petting zoo, straw maze, horse drawn wagon rides and feeding trough snack shop.

You can still purchase apples and cider in the orchard's store.

You can take a ride into the orchard and fill your bag with freshly-picked apples from bins. You will not be able to pick apples from the trees.
