Opening Night of "It's A Wonderful Weekend" Downtown Downers Grove

"Winter Storytime with the Elves" 3:45pm
•  Come to the Downers Grove Library Junior Room for a Winter Storytime led by the Elves.
•  The first 100 children will receive a Glow LED Trumpet necklace to parade  Santa to the Tree Lighting Ceremony.

Parade to the Tree Lighting Ceremony 4:15pm
•  Mrs. Claus will meet the children, accompanied by Downers Grove South Brass Ensemble at 4:15pm.
•  The Children will light the way while parading through the streets of Downtown Downers Grove to the Tree Lighting Ceremony, followed by Santa Claus in a Fire Truck.

Tree Lighting Ceremony  4:30pm
•  Come view our holiday tree decorated with over 1,000 handmade ornaments  by the children of Downers Grove.
•  Enjoy cider and cookies inside the train station beginning at 4:00 p.m. while we await Santa's arrival.
•  Help Mayor Sandack and Santa count down and bring a sparkle to the train station when they light the tree, followed by the Downers Grove Choral Society and the Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts singing holiday songs. Sponsored by theVillage of Downers Grove.

Surprise Appearances By Santa
after the Tree Lighting Ceremony until 8pm
  •  While shopping & dining at your favorite Boutiques and Restaurants and voting for your favorite Gingerbread House, make sure you keep your eye out for  Santa!
