The Education Foundation of Downers Grove District 58, Inc. is an independent, 501 (c)(3) non-profit Corporation, established in 2002 to obtain and distribute financial and other resources for the enhancement of education programs at the thirteen schools of Downers Grove Grade School District 58. The Foundation was organized exclusively for educational purposes to provide supplemental funds for educational programs for the School District.  In the past ten years, the foundation has contributed more than $300,000 to such educational programs, including more than $45,000 in gifts and grants this school year.

“We are excited to have the Freddy Jones Band coming to Downers Grove this year.  It is great that they are back together and we are fortunate to have them agree to perform at such a great venue as the Tivoli Theatre.”  said Jay Stocki, President of the District 58 Foundation Board.   “It is wonderful to see the Education Foundation of Downers Grove District 58 thriving in its tenth year with key events such as this, and we look forward to continuing to enhance one of the most important assets in Downers Grove – our top-tier public schools.”

The Freddy Jones Band started out as a "Jam Band," according to singer-guitarist Wayne Healy and then began concentrating on its own material.  Capricorn Records signed the group after its self-titled and self-released 1992 debut sold more than 10,000 copies. The FJB steadily built an audience from there with 1993's "Waiting For the Night," 1995's "North Ave. Wake-Up Call," and 1997's "Lucid" – which reached No. 19 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart – as well as radio play for songs such as "In a Daydream," "Waitress" and "Mystic Buzz." Rolling Stone praised the group's "fine line between schizophrenic jam band and sensibly-minded pop-rock." The All Music Guide opined that it's "sound at times is reminiscent of the Allman Brothers" – high (and accurate) praise indeed.

The Tivoli Theatre is part of the Classic Cinemas family of historic theaters.  Established in 1978 and based in Downers Grove, Classic Cinemas is a family-owned company operated by Willis, Shirley and Chris Johnson.  Classic Cinemas today operates 13 theatres with 100 screens in 12 communities in Northern Illinois and the greater Chicago area.  For more information on Classic Cinemas, please visit their website at www.classiccinemas.com
