Tivoli Theatre To Present Special Midnight Movie

Downers Grove, IL – When it recently decided to let movie fans decide the movie they would like to see at a special midnight showing, the Tivoli Theatre   e-mailed and posted a survey on its Facebook page, and over 2,000 responses were received. The votes have been tallied, and Classic Cinemas is excited to announce the special midnight movie at the Tivoli Theatre will be the legendary “Raiders of the Lost Ark” (PG).  Fans will be thrilled to see the classic movie as they have never seen it before! A newly restored digital print will be presented using the theatre’s new “state of the art” digital sound and projection system. The classic film will be presented at midnight on Friday, March 30th. Admission is $5. The Tivoli Theatre is located at 5021 Highland Ave in downtown Downers Grove.

Released in 1981, “Raiders of the Lost Ark,” starring Harrison Ford, is an action-adventure film and the first of four movies chronicling the adventures of Indiana Jones. It is ranked #60 on the American Film Institute’s list of the 100 greatest American films. The action takes place in 1936 when archeologist and adventurer Indiana Jones is hired by the U.S. government to find the The Ark of the Covenant, an ancient artifact that holds the key to human existence and would be an overpowering weapon for any army possessing it. Jones risks life and limb in the jungles of South America in his effort to locate and secure the Ark before it is found by a Nazi search party, dispatched by Hitler.
