Ice Festival Returns to Downtown Downers Grove This Weekend

The annual Downtown Downers Grove Ice Festival will be held this Friday through Sunday.

The Annual Downtown Downers Grove Ice Festival: Going for the Gold will feature 40 unique ice sculptures, including Olympic Rings, Mickey Mouse, Skiing Chef, Snowboarder and more. The ice sculptures will line downtown Downers Grove Friday through Sunday, according to the Downtown Downers Grove press release.

Residents can watch a live ice carving demonstration under the lights on Friday evening at 5:30 p.m.

The fun will continue on Saturday and Sunday with live ice carving demonstrations from 11 a.m. to 3p p.m., a performance by Radio Disney Chicago, a Ronald McDonald Magic Show, Pancake Breakfast at First Congregational Church, a special movie Ground Hog Day at Tivoli Theatre (admission is $5.00 and proceeds will benefit Noah’s Hope), and shopping and dining specials throughout the downtown.

Visit the Downtown Downers Grove website for more information and to get details on shopping and dining specials.

At least the termperatures will be well below freezing and not in the 40s, like it has been in past years.

It's a small town Raggedyann. Are you expecting the Auto Show in DG? Or maybe the tall ships? Maybe they can arrange that for you since ice sculpture doesn't meet your approval.

If it's hillbilly festivities you're after, try Westmont.
