Student Short Film Entry Deadline Approaches

Competition is sponsored by the After Hours Film Society

Student filmmakers who hope to see  their work included in the After Hours Film Society's 2011 Student Short Film and Video Festival have until June 30 to submit their entries.

Films and videos must be no more than 30 minutes in length and must be submitted on a half-inch VHS or DVD format by June 30. Students also must complete an application, available on the After Hours Film Society site a $10 fee.

Winning entries will be screened and cash prizes will be awarded at a special AHFS program tentatively scheduled for October. The competition will be juried by film pros and educators. Last year, Robert Lee Fritz, John J. Mostacci and Anthony Venezia served as judges.

This year, the AHFS has been aggressively seeking students filmmakers with the goal of attracting the best and most creative work available.

"The mission of the film competition is to inspire, encourage, recognize, and promote the work of student filmmakers," according to the AHFS website.  For more information contact info@afterhoursfilmsociety.com.
