Along with the famous Budweiser Clydesdale ads and car commercials, a local company had an advertisement shown during Super Bowl XLVIII this Sunday.
Automotive floor mat manufacturer MacNeil Automotive Products Ltd. of Bolingbrook bought a 30-second spot during the Feb. 2 event, according to RubberNews.com.
The ad, called "You Can't Do That," ran during the second quarter of the big game.
MacNeil makes and sells floor mats under the WeatherTech brand.
The commercial didn't come cheap. According to SportsIllustrated.com, a 30-second ad during the Seahawks vs. Broncos matchup costs about $4 million this year.
"With our confidence in the improving economy and the reach of over 111 million viewers that the Super Bowl coverage provides, we thought it was the right time to make the investment," CEO David MacNeil said in a statement.
Last year's Super Bowl ended with just shy of 109 million viewers after some tuned out during the blackout delay, according to Sports Illustrated. The 2012 Super Bowl had a record-high 111 million viewers.
