There are plenty of ways to keep up on Downers Grove news:

My guess is that Palermo's decision to close its DG location was made in the last few weeks. They participated in the competiton at the libary in late June, probably in an attempt to gain name recognition. But, their location has not been good for prior businesses. I think they have been the 3rd or 4th restaurant in the last 10 years. It seems to me that the last two were Italian/pizza restaurants. The Wingstop closing doesn't surprise me. That was a horrible location. It's in a strip mall, and there is nothing to make it stand out from the other businesses. There was no sign by the street. So, unless you were looking for it, you probably couldn't find it.
