How did the business come to be?

Decided to make a career change and returned to my first love; cats. Enrolled in dog grooming school, graduated, but felt there was a greater need for holistic cat grooming and besides, my calling was with cats. I sought out leaders in the industry, learned all I could, then applied that knowledge to taking cat grooming beyond what the rest were offering.

Why did you choose the area you did?

I've shared my entire life with cats and feel we understand each other well. While studying to be a groomer, I found that most groomers treat cats as if they were dogs, much to the distress of the cats. It's important for a cat groomer to truly understand cats and treat them with love and compassion.

What does the business offer?

Wet Whisker is a house call cat grooming service. This means I travel to and groom your cat inside your home. Cats really stress less and act so much better when they can stay inside their own home. All cat services are available including bathing, hair cuts, matt removal, nail clipping, de-shedding, lion & teddy bear clips, and much more. I travel the greater Chicagoland area.

What’s a fact about your business that most customers probably don’t know?

Wet Whisker is holistic oriented. This means only truly cat safe products and compassionate methods are used at all times. No muzzling, tethering, restraining, sedation, or tranquilizing. I will play "cat music", employ cat massage, beginner reiki, offer treats, and otherwise create a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. I also fully clean up after grooming.

What’s your most popular product or service?

Most popular is a cleansing bath to remove oil, bacteria, allergens, dirt, and excess undercoat. After that, the Lion style shave is most requested.
