Downers Grove and Woodridge Chambers Merge

Chambers will toast their new entity, Chamber630, with reception on June 25, featuring tastings from local restaurants.

The Downers Grove Area Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the Woodridge Area Chamber of Commerce have combined forces are forming a new entity to be called Chamber630.

The merger takes effect July 1.

The board of directors of both chambers have worked together over the last several months developing a plan of operation that will benefit all stakeholders.

“From the very first discussion on uniting the business communities of both these great Chambers, the focus and expected outcome has been, this is good for business,” said Laura Crawford, president and CEO of the Downers Grove Chamber. 

Dan Coli, chairman of the Woodridge Area Chamber said the merger gives both organizations wider networking appeal.

“I am excited as a member for all of the new opportunities it represents for my business as well as every members business,” Coli said in a written statement.

Downers Grove Chamber Chairman Rick Mytnik said the merger comes at a crucial time when many other other membership organizations are struggling to retain membership.

“Chamber630 represents a bigger, better chamber and provides enhanced value for the membership,” Mytnik said.  This is a win-win for all business and it is time to celebrate the unification.”

The newly formed Chamber630 will kick off with a celebration -- “We Are Here” -- with a ribbon cutting at Cinemark Theatre at Seven Bridges, 6500 Illinois 53, in Woodridge, from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 25.

Attendees will receive a passport to dining and enjoying toasting and tasting at various restaurants throughout Seven Bridges, as well as entry to special drawings.

Tickets may be purchased at Downers Grove Area Chamber and Industry or the Woodridge Area Chamber of Commerce for $25. Availability is limited.

Participating restaurants include Buffalo Wild Wings, Seven Bridges Golf Club Dock, Suparossa, Tilted Kilt, Blue Line Bar & Grill in Seven Bridges Ice Arena, along with a cash bar. Other eateries will have samples for all and attendees are encouraged to stop by and visit Cocomero, Starbucks, Aurelios, Cold Stone Creamery, Jimmy Johns and others.

The doors to Cinemark open at 4:30 p.m. and the ribbon cutting ceremony commences at 5 p.m. sharp. Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital and the Health & Wellness Center and Midwestern University are key sponsors of this event.  Other sponsorships opportunities are available.
