New Downtown Shop Sells Designer Children's Clothing

Posh Kids Etc. started as an eBay business ten years ago.

Posh Kids Etc., one of the newest shops open in downtown DG, owes its existence to eBay.

After running a successful children's apparel business through the online auction site for ten years, Woodridge resident Melynda Onusaitis decided she needed a storefront to handle the demand, and Posh Kids Etc. was born.

Located at 5116B Main Street near the north side entrance of the , Posh Kids Etc. is a consignment shop selling designer children's clothing, toys, maternity, shoes and more for kids ranging in age from newborns to 12-year-olds.

For Onusaitis, she got started when she realized there was a resale market for the designer clothing she liked to dress her kids in. Onusaitis started the business about ten years ago through eBay not long after being laid off from being a director at WorldCom. As the business continued, Onusaitis found herself selling clothes for her friends as well, and after a while, her house was filled with inventory, necessitating a storefront.

At her store, which opened in mid-February, Onusaitis sells national brands such as Mini Boden, Hannah Anderson and Matilda Jane, but she also carries items from local designers like Downers Grove resident Heather O'Donnell's “neemies” brand.
