Plans for New Downers Grove Starbucks Head to Village Council
The Downers Grove Plan Commission on Monday gave preliminary approval to build a new Starbucks at 1149 Ogden Ave.
Preliminary plans to construct a third Starbucks in Downers Grove will go before the village council next month after receiving unanimous approval from the plan commission Monday.
Developers are seeking approval to open a store at 1149 Ogden Ave., a vacant 15,642-square-foot property that formerly housed a dry cleaning business. The petitioner is proposing to construct a new, 1,800-square-foot Starbucks with a drive-thru lane and a parking lot, according to village documents.
The proposed shop would be open from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. seven days a week.
There are currently two other Starbucks locations in Downers Grove, one at 5002 Main St. and another at 76 Ogden Ave.
The plan is expected to go before the Downers Grove Village Council by early September.
