Verizon Wireless announced today it invested $166 million in 2011 to enhance its existing network in Illinois, which includes the expansion of 4G LTE to Bloomington/Normal, Champaign/Urbana, Rockford and Springfield, Ill., and the Quad Cities.
Additionally, this investment includes the recent addition of a new cell site activated in Downers Grove, Ill., which improves voice and data coverage around Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital, from Interstate 88 in the north, to Meyers Road in the east, to Ogden Avenue in the south and to Interstate 88 in the west.
