Downtown Car Show Returns This Friday

Downtown car show now in its 20th year.

When the Downtown Downers Grove Summer Nights Classic Car Show opens its season this Friday, May 18, it will feel familiar for anyone who's come to expect the streets to be filled with classic cars on Friday nights.

Now in its 20th year, the car show is almost down to a science save for a few tweaks here and there. One of those tweaks this year is a different musical act playing every Friday, which, according to Executive Director of the Linda Kunze, is something the show has never had before.

Another new wrinkle will be some additional parking restrictions along the Main Street Depot. The inside island of the station will be reserved for passenger pickup, while the outside of the island will be reserved for buses. Classic cars that may have parked there in the past will now have to park curbside. Appropriate signage will be on display.
