Good Samaritan Awards Scholarships to High School Grads

The scholarships benefit 11 students who will study an ascept of the medical profession in college.

Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital has awarded 11 local teenagers with scholarships in recognition of their hard work. Each recipient will get $1,000 per year of college as long as they maintain a 3.0 grade point average and continue to pursue a medical discipline.

“We provide them with funds to cover some inescapable expenses—textbooks, a laptop, food, things of that nature,” said Dr. Richard McPartlin, medical staff president-elect and chairman of the Scholarship Committee.

"I participate in the scholarship program every year, and each time the recipients renew my faith in our next generation of teens as well as medical professionals,” McPartlin said.
