The weatherman is calling for another sunny day with a high in the mid-80s and gentle 5 to 10 mph breezes. Enjoy it—the National Weather Service is predicting warmer temps for Saturday and Sunday.

Preschool gymnastic classes

Registration is underway for preschool gymnastic classes at the Park District Recreation Center, 4500 Belmont Road. Session two classes begin the week of July 18 for Rock 'n' Rollers (18-months to 3-1/2 years), Little Rascal Rhythmic Gymnastics (3- to 5-years-old) and Cartwheelers (3-1/2- to 4-years-old).

Calling all Yo-Yos

The library presents professional yo-yo champion Barry North, who will demonstrate amazing tricks from 3 to 3:45 p.m. today in the Meeting Room. Registration is required. All ages are invited, but attendance is limited to 100 and all preschoolers must be accompanied by an adult.

Get those bikes ready, set to go

Kids have just two days to finish decorating their bikes, wagons, strollers and roller blades in preparation for the Bike and Buggy Parade on Sunday, July 10. Participants should meet 12:45 p.m. on Burlington Avenue between Forest and Main streets. The parade starts at 1 p.m., proceeding south on Main to Fishel Park for refreshments and entertainment. The even is sponsored by the Downers Grove/Westmont Newcomers Club. Participants are asked to please bring a non-perishable food item to donate to the Fish food pantry.
