Good grades are rewarded, GroveFest ride tickets are discounted and residents' budget priorities are sought by County Board.

1. Village Council meets tonight

Sidewalks, storm sewers and subdivisions are on the agenda for tonight's Village Council meeting. The discussion kicks off at 7 p.m. at Village Hall, 801 Burlington Ave. Also: Watch for Mayor Martin Tully to offer his final countdown on the days (two) remaining until Grove Fest.

2. Weather follows a familiar pattern

A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mostly cloudy skies and a high near 86 degrees: Most of us could recite today's weather forecast by heart after experiencing it with only minor deviations over the past several days. The National Weather Service predicts more showers and thunderstorms tonight with a low of 69 degrees.

3. Last day for discount GroveFest tickets

Today is the final day to purchase discount ride tickets for this weekend's Rotary GroveFest. The tickets are available at six downtown businesses for $30 per 30-ticket sheet—a savings of $7.50. GroveFest is set for June 23-26 in the downtown area.

4. Park District rewards good grades

Each report card A or equivalent will earn Downers Grove students  a coupon for their choice of a free soft-serve ice cream cone at the McCollum Park concession stand, a free open gym session during June-August or a free gift. The "A's to Play" program is open to students in grade K through 12 through June 30. Just bring your report card to the Recreation Center, 4500 Belmont Road to claim your prize. 5. DuPage County Board asks for budget input

Residents are invited to participate in an online budget survey that will guide the DuPage County Board in its Fiscal Year 2012 budget deliberations. The survey asks residents to rank the services that are most important to them and to specify their top priority. The survey may be completed through July 31. The county board will also hold a series of budget hearings in September.
