UPDATE (5:30 p.m.):

A vehicle struck a ComEd pole damaging the pole and some transformers around 2:30 p.m. today at 5255 Katrine Avenue. At the time, there were roughly 349 customers affected with power outages, and at this time, about 70 percent have had their power restored, according to a ComEd spokesperson.

ComEd crews are on-site and are expected to be there a while due to the extent of the damage.

Also, according to the spokesperson, it was a passenger vehicle that struck the pole and not a work crew of any kind as previously reported.
