National Weather Service warning in effect until 1 a.m.
A severe thunderstorm watch has been put into effect for DuPage and Cook counties, according to the National Weather Service.
The Watch will last until 1 a.m.
Some Downers Grove residents are already reporting power outages. ComEd is reporting thousands of customers in suburban Chicago are without power.
