Volunteerism Saves Park District Money

Park District's 545 volunteers saved Park District $98k in 2011.

Approximately 545 volunteers served the Downers Grove Park District in 2011. A total of 11,106 volunteer hours valued at approximately $98,330 were donated to the Museum, Natural Areas, Golf Club, Active Adult Center and several special events. The Park District relies on these volunteers to help maintain its parks and facilities as well as enhance the value of events and programs.

The Park District will host an appreciation event in April 2012 to recognize the 2011 volunteers. For information on how to become involved with the Park District’s volunteer program, contact Patricia Semple at 630-963-1300.
