• The Kelly Miller Circus came to town last Monday, and a small group of protesters sparked discussion about the treatment of circus elephants.

• Chicago alderman brought up the idea of a “commuter tax” that would tax suburbanites who work in Chicago but don't live there.

• Columnist Sara Bieda asked the community for some new dinner recipes. You can still share yours with her!

• DGN beat DGS 2-1 in a crosstown soccer match.

• Unfortunately, DGN lost its homecoming game to York 41-0. Fortunately for Downers Grove football fans, DGS beat Willowbrook 49-13.
