LEGO Moviemaking: Ninjago - Starts next Saturday

Starts Saturday, September 7

PY-663-270: 10a-noon, 9/7-9/28, ages 7-14

Do you like to tell stories? Are you creative? Would you like to know how to make a movie? Do you LOVE building with LEGOs? If you said "yes" to any (or all) of these questions, then you'll love this course! You will work in a two person team to brainstorm/storyboard the plot, design the set, write the script, film the stop-motion animation sequences, and edit/complete production of your masterpiece by adding the voice-overs, sound track, and special effects. Computers, webcams, headsets, stop-motion animation software and LEGOs (lots and lots of LEGOs) will be used to create the movies.

The special theme for this course will be "Ninjago". Special mini-figs from this LEGO collection will be provided, though movie-makers will also be welcome to bring their own special LEGOs and mini-figs from home to enhance their storyline. At the end of the course, the completed videos will be made available so students can show them to their family and friends.

EFUN ACADEMY students are guided by an adult mentor and their own imaginations while using LEGOs to solve real world-inspired Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics challenges. The point of EFUN ACADEMY is to excite all students about science and technology. We want students to have fun – and they will have that fun while playing creatively and with a purpose. No prior LEGO experience or course materials are required. Students will be taught everything they need to know during class. Students will work in teams of two – friends are welcome to sign up as partners.
