The Downers Grove Junior Woman's Club New Member Social

The Downers Grove Junior Woman's Club is kicking off the 2013-2014 year with a new member social event on Tuesday, September 24 from 7 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. at Emmett's Ale House.  The new member event is an opportunity for women interested in joining the group to hear about the various service activities and social events planned for the upcoming year.

Prospective members can expect the meeting to be engaging and rewarding with a unique, hands-on service project as well as a social hour.  They will learn about the Club's effort to support the local charity, Sharing Connections, which membership has selected as the community improvement project for the year's community service efforts.

In 2013-2014, the Club is aiming to double its membership.  With a larger membership the Club will have a greater impact in the community this upcoming year.

"The Downers Grove Junior Woman's Club is an amazing outlet to give back to the community," said Club President Joanne Vought.   "We know there are a lot of leaders in the community and we want them to join our organization and help us continue to give back to Downers Grove."

Over the last fifty years, the club's mission has been to support and raise awareness of charitable organizations, individuals in need, and the community at large by donating funds, providing resources and hands-on service.  The club is open to adult women of all ages who reside in Downers Grove and the surrounding communities.
