Illinois faces an extraordinary public pension crisis.

As your Illinois state representative I will not accept taxpayer-funded health or pension benefits arising from my service in the Illinois General Assembly and I will advocate for comprehensive reform of all benefit plans that cover our elected public servants.

I support Senate Bill 512 as a partial step towards solving the Illinois pension crisis

As your Illinois state representative I would vote in favor of Senate Bill 512. SB 512 is not perfect but at the moment it is the best option actually on the table and at least it is a place to start. Further, I will work tirelessly with all stakeholders to craft a more viable and sustainable plan that can be successfully enacted into law.

I support the death penalty for the most heinous criminals

Illinois prosecutors and Illinois juries need the death penalty as an option, especially in the most heinous of criminal cases.

As your Illinois state representative I will vote to restore the death penalty to Illinois and I would not have voted as my opponent did last spring when he stripped away an important tool from our law enforcement agencies.

I call for the abolition of legislative scholarships

The ongoing practice of allowing state legislators to award scholarships and tuition waivers for state universities, without oversight or review, must end.

As your Illinois state representative I will decline to award such scholarships, I will consistently vote to terminate such programs and I will actively work with my fellow legislators to gather sufficient votes to successfully repeal this abusive program.

Government should not pick who wins and who loses

I reject the idea that the Illinois General Assembly should pick and choose which Illinois businesses receive preferential treatment and sweetheart tax breaks.

As your Illinois state representative, I will advocate for a level playing field for all in Illinois and work to foster a business climate that will best assure a prosperous future for our state.

Let’s take a close look at term limits for members of the Illinois General Assembly

As your Illinois state representative, I will advocate taking a close hard look at whether term limits for the Illinois General Assembly could help break the gridlock in Springfield. Term limits have been tried in many other states and there is plenty of data to analyze and they could offer the possibility of real reform. However, we cannot allow ourselves to focus exclusively on term limits and use that as an excuse to ignore addressing the many other pressing issues Illinois faces.
