UPDATED: Downtown Businesses Collecting for Tornado Relief Efforts

Find out how you can contribute to tornado relief efforts, by visiting drop-off locations in downtown Downers Grove.

Downtown Downers Grove businesses are coming together to help those impacted by the Nov. 17 tornado.

Beauty on the Main, located at 4934 Main St. is looking to fill the truck with donations. Please look over the list below for items that are needed in the area, and drop them off to Beauty on the Main. Bellissima Photography and Gatto's Restaurant and Bar are also collecting. 

The truck will leave the morning of Tuesday, Nov. 26, driven by Charlie Reed, a Village of Downers Grove Public Works employee that has taken the time off of work to help the tornado victims.

Items Needed:

  • Snacks for lunches (individually wrapped items)
  • Bottled water
  • Toothbrushes
  • Body Wash (not bar soap)
  • Towels
  • Toilet Paper
  • Baby Formula
  • Diapers
  • Batteries: C, D, & AAA
  • Scissors
  • Toothpaste
  • Shampoo/Conditioner
  • Dish Soap
  • Brown Lunch Bags
  • Paper Towels
  • Infant Care Items
  • Flashlights
  • Duct Tap
  • Dog and Cat Food

  • Friday, Nov. 22, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Saturday, Nov. 23 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Monday, Nov. 25 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Bellissima Photography (5120 Main Street)
Collecting toiletry items, as well as used/new back packs with school supplies. Also collecting gift cards for the following stores: Target, Walmart, Lowes, Home Depot, and gas cards. Bins located at the store, donations accepted: 
  • Monday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. 
  • Tuesday 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. 
  • Wednesday 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. 
Gatto's Restaurant and Bar (5123 Main Street)
  • Friday, Nov. 22 4 p.m. until close.
  • Saturday, Nov. 23: 12 p.m. until close
  • Sunday, Nov. 24: 4pm until close
