Baby Born at 10 a.m. on 11/12/13

A baby boy was born on the sequentially thrilling time and date of 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 12—or 10, 11/12/13—at Good Samaritan Hospital.

One baby made a particularly well-timed entrance into the world at Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove.

Meet Joshua Hunter White, who arrived at 10 a.m., on the 12th day of the 11th month, in 2013. Or, in other words: 10 a.m., on 11/12/13. And to top it off, Joshua weighed in at 9 pounds. (Make that 9, 10, 11/12/13).

Joshua was born weighing 9 pounds, 13 ounces, to parents Jennifer and Doug White of Villa Park. Jennifer's due date was Nov. 5, but as the days passed, the couple wondered about the possibility of such an interesting sequential birthdate for their third child.

"I was huge and miserable," Jennifer said, of the wait to meet Joshua.

With two daughters already, the couple chose to keep the sex of this baby a secret until the big reveal.

White went into labor at 3 a.m. Nov. 12, and as the clock ticked, the pair began hoping for a delivery time of 9:10 a.m., 11/12/13. But the clock hands swept passed that chance.

At 9:58 a.m., hanging by the hope of meeting their baby, White gave one final push.

Joshua was born at 10:00, on the dot. Ten fingers, 10 toes—perfectly healthy.

"The timing was just the icing on the cake," White said.

Family members joke about the couple's luck at the timing of the birth, White said.

"Everybody keeps saying we should play the lottery."

Wedding Rush on 11/12/13
Couples across the country jumped at the chance to marry on a date of such calendrical coincidence. David’s Bridal, a clothier with stores across the country specializing in wedding wear, predicted there would be upwards of 3,000 weddings in the United States Nov. 12—more than a 700 percent increase of the second Tuesday of November last year.
