Tell Us about Downers Grove High School Stars Among Us

Sometimes, it's the moments off the field that make for the most meaningful memories.

They score touchdowns, sweep opponents, set records and make history. They represent Downers Grove with athletic and academic prowess, and bottomless school spirit.

They are your Downers Grove North Trojans, and Downers Grove South Mustangs. And boy, do they make you proud on the court, field, track, diamond. Oozing with pride. Gushing with admiration.

But sometimes, it's the moments out of uniform that stand out.

"I used to watch big (number) 95 there run around in our back yard," wrote Robert Barto, in response to a DG North football sidelines photo. "And number 2 standing next to him helped us dig out when we were buried in three feet of snow and I had the flu and couldn't move.

"Yeah. We've got good kids."

As the Downers Grove North Trojans prep for round 3 of 7A football playoff action, and in celebration of impressive seasons for your teams, Patch wants to know:

What makes your athletes superstars, when they're not in uniform? When have you seen the true character of your athletes come shining through?

Tell us about it! Describe the athlete's action, and why it moved you—and we'll highlight one athlete each week as our Trojan and Mustang of the week.
